Use this page for help with the Tab Recorder Chrome extension, including browser permissions, local recording behavior, and privacy questions.

Common setup checks

Use a recent version of Chrome.
Grant tab or screen audio access when Chrome asks.
Choose the browser tab or source you want to record.
Confirm your browser allows file downloads if saving fails.

Local files

Recordings, transcripts, summaries, settings, and metadata are stored locally. If a recording is missing, check the folder or download location selected during recording.

Privacy questions

Tab Recorder does not use analytics, advertising trackers, remote logging, or cloud processing for its stated features. Read the privacy policy for details.
