Mission
#

Tensor Lab exists to conduct and support research in artificial intelligence and related fields, to provide education and public learning opportunities, and to advance knowledge for the public benefit.

We are organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, we operate under a strict mandate that our work must serve the public interest.

Values
#

Public Benefit – Everything we do is oriented toward creating value for society. No part of our work is directed toward private enrichment. Our earnings are reinvested into our mission, and our research findings are shared with the broader community.

Scientific Rigor – We hold ourselves to the highest standards of scientific inquiry. Our research is reproducible and transparent. We pursue truth over convenience and welcome scrutiny of our methods and conclusions.

Accessibility – We believe AI knowledge should not be confined to a privileged few. We design our educational programs and publish our research to be as widely accessible as possible, lowering barriers to understanding and participation.

Independence – We maintain our independence from political and commercial pressures. We do not participate in political campaigns or devote substantial resources to lobbying. Our research agenda is driven by scientific merit and public need, not by partisan or commercial interests.

Accountability – We operate under formal governance policies, including conflict of interest protections, to ensure that our decisions are made transparently and in the best interests of the organization and the public it serves.

We maintain operational partnerships with affiliated organizations for infrastructure and technical support, allowing us to focus our resources on research and education.

Upon dissolution, all of Tensor Lab’s assets are directed to other 501(c)(3) organizations or to government entities for public purposes, ensuring that contributions to the organization permanently serve the public interest.
